HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County judge has denied a request for a new trial from two convicted killers.

Judge Karen Hall denied the request by Henry Varise and Sheldon Henry, who were convicted of the 2011 Halloween murder at the Richard Showers Center.

They had argued the state didn't provide evidence until midway through the trial, that a witness had identified someone else as the shooter, and that the state couldn't prove the deadly bullet came from Henry's gun.

Varise and Henry are serving 30 years in prison for killing Christopher Collier at the Showers Center.
