DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A DeKalb County woman accused of killing an elderly man will go to trial this summer.

Patty Westbrook faces a capital murder charge for the murder of Pete Batey in March 2011.

Investigators said Batey gave Westbrook a ride near Geraldine. According to authorities, Westbrook then shot Batey with his own gun before robbing him and taking his truck.

Westbrook has already had one trial to determine if she is competent to stand trialThe jury decided she is mentally competent.

Her trial is set for Aug. 11.
