HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - There's a pretty good-sized hole at Sparkman Drive's intersection with Holmes Avenue and Bradford Drive.
A driver posted on See, Click, Fix that stormwater's draining into the hole, cracking the pavement around it. Huntsville Public Works responded and said they'd fix it. We checked out the intersection yesterday, and there's a nice, new dark patch where the hole used to be.
And how dangerous is the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Jordan Lane? Very dangerous, especially between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., according to one driver.
He posted on See, Click, Fix that there are a lot of near misses for cars and pedestrians almost every day. He says he's seen people going north on Jordan cut through the parking lot for Liberty Tax and Book Legger before the light to get to Holmes westbound faster, sometimes at speeds up to 40 mph..
Huntsville Police monitored the intersection for ten days and say they didn't see anyone doing that, but they'll keep an eye on it.
