HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County judge will decide a request for a new trial by two convicted killers.

Henry Varise and Sheldon Henry went before Judge Karen Hall with their motion on Tuesday morning.

Both men's lawyers want their murder convictions dropped.

They argued the state didn't provide evidence until midway through the trial, that a witness had identified someone else as the shooter and the state couldn't prove the bullet that killed the victim came from Henry's gun.

On Halloween night in 2011, Varise and Henry shot and killed Christopher Collier at the Richard Showers center.

They're both serving 30 year prison sentences.
