20 acres burned in New Market brush fire

NEW MARKET, AL (WAFF) -

Fire crews in Madison County had to deal with a mid-afternoon flare-up in some brush Monday.

It happened around 1 p.m. near Walker Lane and Butler Road in New Market.

Crews on the scene said about 20 acres burned before it was brought under control. The fire did not threaten any buildings.

No word has been given on what caused the fire at this time.
