MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County church will hold a free ‘shopping day' for those in need, providing clothes free of charge – no questions asked.

The shopping spree will take place at "The Closet" at the Monrovia Church of Christ in Madison next Saturday, but on Easter Sunday, church members began preparing for the event.

"As a church body, we're called to mission, and that's what we want to be," said youth minister Chase Gallimore. "We wanted to be more than just a project or an event. A lot of times we have bible studies at church, but tonight we're considering this a ‘bible doing…' because we're going out and we're doing what the Word tells us to do."

Volunteers are still accepting donations of new or gently-used clothing. Since The Closet opened two years ago, it has helped over 600 families in the metro area, and given away some 25,000 articles of clothing.
