TONEY, AL (WAFF) -

Toney Fire and Rescue responded to a 20 acre field fire Saturday afternoon.

Toney Fire and Rescue received an alarm around 2:30 p.m. They sent three engines and two road attack trucks. The windy conditions hindered units from getting a quicker stop on the fire.

The fire took approximate 25 minutes to get under control, and another 30 minutes to get it extinguished. Moores Farms assisted by bringing a tractor and cutting a fire break to keep the fire from spreading further.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
