BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A former Alabama football player who nearly lost his life April 27 is now telling his story in a new book. He visited FOX6 News Sports Anchor Rick Karle to talk about his new work.

It has been almost three years since Tinker's girlfriend Ashley Harrison was killed in the April 27 storm. Tinker himself was injured after being thrown 50 yards from his home.

Now, Tinker says he feels truly blessed after bouncing back through faith and his family. He spoke with Rick Karle about his journey and new book, "A Season to Remember:Faith in the Midst of the Storm."

Carson will be at two locations in Tuscaloosa Saturday, April 19 to sign his book. He will be on the Quad at 8:30 a.m. and at Lifeway bookstore 4:30 p.m.

Rick Karle is also putting together a special story on Tinker to air April 27.
