LOUISVILLE, Ky. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville climbed in this week's installment of the NFCA Division II Softball Top 25 poll, moving four spots to the No. 3 position after another perfect week.
UAH – who has been in the top 10 of every edition of this year's poll and features a 33-6 record – will meet the nation's new No. 4 team North Georgia on Wednesday night in Dahlonega in what had previously been billed as a showdown between two teams in the top 10 as both teams jumped four positions this week.
West Texas A&M continues to be the No. 1 team in the country, while Cal State Monterey Bay moved to the second spot this week. UAH and North Georgia are third and fourth, respectively, with Missouri-St. Louis rounding out the top five.
The only other Gulf South Conference school featured in the rankings is No. 21 Valdosta State as North Alabama fell out of the rankings this week. Also taking a tumble in the poll is South Region institution Tampa who fell from second to ninth.
After Wednesday's doubleheader at North Georgia, the Chargers will play their final GSC road series of the year this weekend, travelling to Union for a three-game set.
