SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -

Threatening song lyrics are stirring up trouble for a couple of students in the Shoals. Students at Sheffield High School wrote a song that included lyrics about shooting the school resource officer.

Charges were filed against the students in the juvenile court system. They could also face additional consequences at school.

A police report has been filed with Sheffield Police claiming two teen brothers created a video and posted it to Sound Cloud, a social media site similar to YouTube. In that video, police said the teens were directing threats towards the school resource officer.

According to the police report, the lyrics were very explicit. The report said the teens talked about grabbing the school resource officer's gun and shooting him with it, even calling the officer by name.

"In today's climate, with the things that are going on around the country, you can't ignore those things. Those are things that are indicators of a potentially bigger problem and you sure don't want to ignore it and we didn't. We have since filed charges against the two students in juvenile court," said Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray.
