HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Marshall Space Flight Center will hold a full-scale active shooter emergency exercise Thursday morning.

MSFC said this event will involve a mock shooter and victims; Marshall, Redstone Arsenal and area emergency responders and response teams; simulated emergency communications; and other activities to test emergency responses and communication preparedness.

During the exercise, simulated Emergency Notification System announcements and other messages will be preceded by "EXERCISE," and the community should be aware that any unusual activity seen or heard is part of the test and not a real emergency.

The active shooter exercise is part of MSFC's ongoing dedication to protecting its employees.
