Pharmavite to expand manufacturing facility in Opelika

OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) -

Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller announced on Tuesday that Pharmavite will be expanding its manufacturing facility in Opelika to accommodate growing demands.

Pharmavite is one of the nation's largest manufacturers of high quality vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements. The company plans to invest an additional $21.6 million and hire an additional 54 associates over the next three years.

The Pharmavite facility has been operating in Opelika since Jan. 2013. Pharmavite has invested approximately $89 million in the Opelika facility to date, and currently employee 245 associates.

"We are so pleased that Pharmavite is expanding their Opelika operations," Mayor Fuller said. "This additional investment along with the opportunity for more jobs is good news for the citizens of Opelika."

"We have been very pleased with our decision to locate the eastern manufacturing facility in Opelika," said Mark Walsh, Chief Operating Officer for Pharmavite. "As our business continues to grow, we look forward to bring additional jobs and opportunities to our Opelika facility."
