HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

"Do you remember where you were when your heard the news of the Boston Marathon bombing?" An Arab native now married and living in Huntsville doesn't have to think very hard on that question... he was there.

Drew Whisenant was finishing up college in Boston working on his masters degree at Harvard after attending MIT. His fraternity house was just down the street. He was studying that day, but his fraternity brothers heard the bombs. Shortly after that, they learned what had happened through social media.

"My family had been trying to get in touch with me. By this point, my brother couldn't get in touch with me because the cell signals were jammed. And he sent me a message on Twitter that said "You can't be in Boston and not answer your phone when there are explosives,'" said Whisenant.

Whisenant said he had been at that very spot, the finish line, countless times over the last several years.
