Police: UNA social media threat 'not credible'

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

After looking into a threat made to the University of North Alabama through a social media app, police determined it was not credible.

University Police received a Yik Yak message around 11:36 a.m. from an unidentified person. The message said they were going to "shoot up UNA."

Police said the threat wasn't credible and is non traceable.

The campus is not on lock down and classes have not been canceled.

UNA Police have tripled patrols and personnel. State Police are also assisting.
