DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) -

A fugitive on the run for 18 months is back in custody after being arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Dothan Friday.

Bobby Duane Bates, 61, was sentenced on Nov. 4, 2010 to serve a 30-month prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Bates reported to his probation officer on Aug. 24, 2012 in Cocoa, FL and fled immediately afterwards.

Information led U.S. Marshals in Alabama to an address on McAlister Road in Dothan where Bates was located and taken into custody.

Bates had reportedly been living in the Dothan area for about a year and was using the aliases "Kriss Mellow" and "Darryl Vinson." U.S. Marshals took several fake identification cards from Bates. Additional charges are pending.
