LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A father and son in Lawrence County were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Deputies attempted to pull over Kennie Ray Terry, 46, and Jessie James Terry, 24, in Trinity. They said the driver, Kennie, drove away from deputies who tried to pull over the two.

After a short chase, the driver pulled over. When drug agents got the two out of the vehicle, they said Jessie tried to hide several packages of synthetic marijuana, or spice, in his crotch area.

Investigators said the two men had been smoking spice before the traffic stop. They also found unopened and empty beer cans in the car.

Both men were booked into the county jail and have since been released on bond.
