MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

The Madison Police Department reported a collision between a train and a car. It happened around 8:30 p.m. at Shelton Road Crossing.

Police said the driver went off the road and the car got stuck on the tracks. The driver was able to get out in time before an oncoming train struck his car.

A Norfolk Southern train slammed into the car sending it flying off the tracks. No one was injured.

Shelton Road was closed as officials moved the train and the car out of the way.
