MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

The Madison City Farmer's Market was greeted with the perfect weather for an opening day.

The 8th season opened at their new location: Trinity Baptist Church on Hughes Road. Organizers credit the new spot to the large turnout Saturday. The market offered a wide selection of veggies, fruits, and other home-made goods. Everything offered was grown or produced within 100 miles of the market.

"This year, I think our furthest vendor is 76 miles," said Madison City Chair Mary Stallings. "Everything is within the Tennessee Valley community, so you keep your money local when you support your local farmers."

The Madison City Farmer's Market is open from 8 to noon every Saturday until September, and then 9 to noon in November and October.
