HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Huntsville Fire-Rescue Training Division will conduct a live fire training exercise on April 13.

The exercise will be at a donated structure on 663 Martin Road. Several fire units will be involved.

Nearby residents may see black smoke coming from the area during the training. The firefighters will arrive at 9 and the building will be lit at 10:30 a.m. The operation will continue until the house has burned to the ground and as much as possible of the fire is extinguished. After the exercise, the structure will burn until demolished.

Captain Frank McKenzie said they have prepared and inspected the structure and have taken all measures to protect surrounding property. If there are any concerns during the exercise, residents are to call 911.
