MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Deputies made an arrest in a fatal stabbing that happened Thursday night at a mobile home in Madison County. Authorities responded to the scene around 8 p.m. on Phillips Road in the northern area of the county.

Two people were reportedly stabbed multiple times. Bobby Pierce, 64, died as a result of his injuries. Deputies questioned the surviving victim, Monica Hayes, whose injuries were not life-threatening.

According to Sgt. Brent Patterson, the assailant was taken into custody and identified as Daniel Cobb, 39. Cobb is Hayes' son.

Investigators said the stabbing appears to be related to a domestic dispute that happened in the den of the home. Deputies believe Cobb stabbed and killed Pierce before stabbing Hayes.

Cobb was charged with murder and is currently being held in the Madison County Metro Jail.

Phillips Road was blocked off as authorities conducted the investigation.
