TUSCUMBIA, AL (WAFF) -

A meth bust in the Shoals has police on high alert, searching for the man connected to a working lab in Colbert County.

Drug agents are searching for Thomas Ashmore Jr. He is wanted in connection with a meth lab found in a wooded area off Memory Lane in Tuscumbia, early Friday morning.

Agents found a one-pot meth lab, drug paraphernalia, chemicals used to make meth and the finished product.

A warrant for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance has been issued for his arrest.

Neighbors said the bust is alarming. They fear what could have happened if a kid found the materials.

"You've got the folks that have lived there for awhile; their kids have grandkids that are there, and you have young families that are out there and lots of children," said Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan. "Anytime you find anything like that inside the city, it's of great concern. A big concern for us too is that's two labs in three weeks, within two miles of each other. It's very concerning."

Anyone who sees Ashmore should call authorities immediately.
