HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Water damage has forced the closure of two Madison County offices.

The Madison County Sales Tax Department and the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs in Downtown Huntsville are closed. Officials said a urinal on the third floor of the building leaked, sending water down throughout the lower floors.

There was at least eight inches of water on two floors. The water damaged machinery, but no records were lost. Asbestos and mold were found during an inspection of the damage.

The damage is estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars; insurance will cover all repair costs. Officials are scouting the area with real estate agents looking for a temporary place to house employees.
