LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Limestone County woman died from injuries sustained when her home caught fire in March.

45-year-old Dominga Lorenza died Sunday night at the UAB burn unit. She had been there since March 28, when her home went up in flames. Lorenza suffered severe burns to her head, hands and feet.

Her children, ages 5 and 6, escaped the fire without injury. Neighbors said the children told them they were lighting napkins with a grill lighter inside the house when the fire started.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating.
