Search for burglary suspects leads to meth bust

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Two men were jailed Monday afternoon following a meth bust by Limestone County investigators.

Investigators were looking for a burglary suspect at a home on Oak Grove Road. Sheriff's deputies also reported complaints of meth being manufactured at the residence.

Upon arrival, two men tried to flee from a building on the property. One of the men, 38-year-old Heath Allison of Prospect TN, was apprehended at the scene.

Tracking dogs aided in finding the other man, 33-year-old Randall Swafford, in a nearby field.

A search of the residence found two meth labs, a small quantity of meth, and drug paraphernalia.

The two men were charged with first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Officials said that due to their intoxicated state, the suspects will be questioned about the burglary later.
