HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Three Huntsville families are in new homes thanks to Habitat for Humanity, church volunteers, and their own hard work.

They all celebrated this morning for the homes built for Tekeria Rainey, Courtney Mitchell, and Tosha Wesley.

The houses are on Garden Park Drive. Cove United Methodist Church volunteers helped build them, and the new homeowners had put in hours of labor themselves.

"It's a day to mark the beginning of a new segment of home ownership for them as they've worked so hard to get their homes built," said Myra Sanderson  with the Madison County Habitat for Humanity.

It's a busy time for Habitat for Humanity of Madison County. After the event, they began building four new homes in the same neighborhood, and construction of another one in harvest is scheduled to start soon.
