FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Water was shut off to a Lauderdale County trailer park, leaving residents without for a week.

Residents at the trailer park declined to go on-camera, in fear of stirring up trouble with their landlord and within the community. They all agree that not having water is putting them in a major bind and they want something done about it.

Florence city officials confirmed they shut the water off at the Oak Park trailer park on County Road 289 one week ago. According to city records, there is one water meter connected at the trailer park which serves the entire neighborhood.

The meter is under the name of Bobby Williamson. City leaders said Williamson was given prior warnings about the water being shut off, but could not confirm exactly why it was to be turned off.

Residents said off-camera Thursday Williamson said he didn't have the money to pay the bill. For the last week, residents have been forced to haul in water or go to a friend's home to bathe.

Attempts to reach Williamson for comment were unsuccessful.
