Man jailed for alleged threat over Waffle House tab

COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A man was arrested by police after they said he robbed a Waffle House.

Derek Slatton is being held on a $50,000 bond at the Colbert County Jail.

Tuscumbia Police said Slatton left the Waffle House without paying around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said when an employee confronted him in his car about the unpaid tab; Slatton allegedly threatened the man, saying he had a gun.

Slatton took off, and the employees got his tag number and called police. He was picked up by Russellville Police a short time later.
