Parade kicks off Morgan Co. Sheriff's Rodeo festivities

MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Festivities will start on Saturday in preparation for the Morgan County Sheriff's Rodeo.

The Rodeo Parade will start at noon on Saturday in downtown Hartselle.

The Street Dance will be held on April 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the Old State Bank Building. This free dance will feature a live band and is sponsored by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

The Special Needs Rodeo will be held on April 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Morgan County Sheriff's Rodeo will last from April 11 to April 12, starting at 7 p.m. each day. The annual rodeo will be housed at the Morgan County Celebration Center Arena in Priceville.

Tickets are available at Morgan County People's Bank locations and the sheriff's office. For more information, please call (256) 351-4800.

Price for attendees who are 13-years-old and older is $12 for advance tickets and $15 at the gate. Children 5-years-old to 12-years-old need $8 for advance tickets and $10 at the gate. Children 4-years-old and younger are free to get in.

New activities at the rodeo this year include the Gold Rush, Calf Scramble, Hard Money and a specialty act "Rawhide and Dusty." Door prizes will be given away throughout the rodeo both nights.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
