HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville City School leaders and some community leaders are scheduled to get together to hash out their feud.

Madison County Commissioner Bob Harrison was joined by Huntsville City Council member Richard Showers in accusing the school board and Superintendent Casey Wardynski of not listening to them enough in drawing up the school system's new student assignment plan.

"We certainly, from the school board's perspective, we've been setting the line," said Huntsville City School Board President David Blair. "When people come in and say things that are inappropriate or inaccurate, then obviously we're going to go in and correct those things, and that's what we've been doing."

Blair said Harrison and Showers were invited to a meeting with him and Wardynski on April 2. They plan to talk about the district's school zoning plan, the Justice Department's objections to the plan, as well as academic achievements that have been made.
