HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The WAFF 48 Storm Team is tracking another round of showers and storms that will move through Friday night.

Storms will develop to our west Friday afternoon and evening. Some of those storms could be severe across Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

By the time they reach north Alabama and southern Tennessee though, they will have lost some intensity.

A few strong storms with wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible in NW Alabama, but the overall severe weather threat for our area appears low.

Right now it looks like storms won't reach NW Alabama and the Shoals until around midnight, the Huntsville metro until around 2 a.m., and NE Alabama until around 4 a.m.

The WAFF 48 Storm will keep you updated on any changes in the timing or expected intensity of storms on-air, online at WAFF.com and on our mobile news and weather apps.
