A fire destroyed a mobile home on Andrews Street in Limestone County Friday afternoon.

Fire investigators are working to determine what ignited the blaze.

Dominga Lorenza, 44-years-old, was taken to Athens Hospital with burns on part of her body. She was transferred from Athens Hospital to UAB in critical condition.

Her two children made it out of the home safely.

Firefighters said they're trying to figure out if either of those children may have caused the fire.

Neighbors said they questioned the children after they ran from the burning home and the children told them they were playing with a grill fire starter, burned a napkin, and caught the house on fire.

The victim's next door neighbor said the woman was in the bath tub when the fire started. He said she was able to get across the street to her children just before the house went up in flames.

"It got her feet real bad and her face was really, really black," said neighbor David Nayman. "Her hair was singed and her clothes was burned to her. It was really, really hot. I could feel it from 70 to 80 feet away, and it was almost bubbling the skin on the back of my hand."
