GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Even in a crowd of people in downtown Greenville a FOXCarolina crew noticed Charles Russ.

"I prefer the word style over fashion," Russ said.

On Thursday, Russ had on a cap, tie and shirt with mix patterns and cuffed jeans.

"If you see a look you like, there's always a way to do it," Russ said.

Russ falls into a new trendy group called yummies. He's a young, single, professional who likes to be fashionable.

"I think Tom Ford said being well-dressed is a form of good manners," Russ said.

According to a study, researchers with the HSBC Financial Services Firm tracked their clients' spending habits and created the term yummies. Yummies are young men who live in metropolitan areas or towns and don't mind spending money on fashion. Top designers are taking notice by expanding their clothing lines and products to include more men.

"Even the big classic shoe makers, Louis Vuitton, they now make a lot of men sneakers, the ones with spikes and the one with red bottoms," Russ said.

It's a new trend even not-so-yummies notice.

"I think it was more kind of business casual than it is today," Charlie Bernstein said.

He considers some of his friends to be yummies.

"I think reality TV has a lot to do with it and a lot that's going on elsewhere, and people just trying new things," Bernstein said.

Bernstein said his style is a little different, more laid back.

"I got this new pair of jeans that I kinda like. I got them from the Gap.

But Russ said even if you're not a yummy, just be you.

"My big thing is just develop your own style," Russ said.

According to the study, the term Metro-sexual is cliche' because so many men are becoming trend setters in fashion.
