3 arrested in botched chicken house theft

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Three people were booked into Lawrence County Jail after a reported burglary. It happened on County Road 114 in the Hatton Community.

Timothy Hammond, 27, Ragan Ebright, 19, and Jeffrey Alexander, 33, were arrested for an alleged attempt to steal property from a chicken house.

Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell said the three entered the chicken house but were spotted and chased off by the victims. Deputies were reportedly given a vehicle description and later located it not far from the scene.

Sheriff Mitchell said investigators responded and spoke with Ebright, who admitted to her involvement and identified the other suspects involved.

Mitchell said Hammond and Alexander were located on a later date and questioned. Both subjects reportedly confessed to their involvement and were booked into Lawrence County Jail.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
