N.Y. State of Mind: Tigers headed to MSG

Posted: Updated:

CLEMSON, SC (WMBF) - The Clemson Tigers are bound for New York City next week to take part in the semifinals of the National Invitation Tournament after beating Belmont at home 73-68 on Tuesday night. Damarcus Harrison and K.J. McDaniels each recorded 16 points in the win while Jordan Roper added 12.

The Tigers took a six point lead into the half, but the Bruins' three point shooting put them right back in it and gave them a lead for much of the second frame.

Clemson bounced backed, and after a Harrison three to make it 67-66, reclaimed the lead for good. Clemson improves to 23-12 on the year.

The Tigers will play in the NIT Semifinals next week at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night. They will face the winner of California and SMU, who play each other in another quarterfinal game on Wednesday night.
