'The usual suspects' reappear in pediatric illness tests

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Strep throat is holding fast as the most prevalent illness in Huntsville-area children.

This week's test results from Huntsville Pediatric Associates show many kids continue to test positive for the infection. Out of the 261 children tested, 46 came back positive for strep throat.

Meanwhile, walking pneumonia, influenza and RSV continue to hang around in comparably smaller numbers.

Of 22 walking pneumonia tests, six were returned positive. 45 flu tests were performed, with only five positive. Out of 27 tests for RSV, only four came back positive.
