Steve Forbes speaks about economy at Auburn University

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

A financial icon paid a visit to Auburn University, onSaturday, to speak to students about the economy.

Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Magazine and master of finance,Steve Forbes, spoke at Auburn Arena as the featured keynote speaker at the secondannual Auburn Conservatives for Tomorrow's spring conference.

Forbes discussed the state of our nation's economy as wellas stabilizing the dollar, the gold standard, and simplifying the tax code.

"In terms of the economy, that this so called new normal isthe new abnormal," Forbes said. "We should be doing better, and will be doingbetter with mistakes that put us in this mess. The nice thing about that isthey can be undone. This is not handed down from on high. This is homemade andcan be undone, and I believe will be undone."

Forbes campaigned for the Republican nomination for Presidentin 1996 and 2000. He also wrote the book HowCapitalism will save us.

    Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
