MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Marshall County's new drug testing center is open.

A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning for the facility located in Albertville. The center is used primarily to provide drug and alcohol tests for people in the criminal justice center.

Now, they're expanding to include area businesses and industries who wish to use their services. Officials said they're very price competitive, and the turnout is faster because they do the testing in-house.

"We are a non-profit organization, and the revenue that comes in from drug testing helps support the programs for this community," said Marcheta Shaw, Court Referral Executive Director. "So all of the money goes back into the program, and back into our community."

If businesses are looking to use the center for drug testing, an open house and training session is being scheduled for April 15 at the center.
