MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Madison County Schools Superintendent Dr. David Copeland announced Thursday night the school system will run double bus routes next school year.

Starting with the 2014-2015 school year, high schools and "large" middle schools – including Buckhorn Hazel Green, Madison County, New Hope High schools, Buckhorn, Meridianville, Monrovia and Sparkman Middle and 9th schools will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. each day.

All elementary schools, including all K-3, K-5, K-6, K-8 and 4-6 configurations, will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. each day.

Parents will be allowed to drop students off 30 minutes prior to the beginning of school.

School leaders said they will be working with parents during the process to ensure a smooth transition.
