GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Efforts have been renewed to find a man who is believed to have fallen from his boat in Lake Guntersville last November.

Cadaver dogs arrived Thursday afternoon as rescue teams resumed a more intensive search for the remains of 57-year-old Jackie Neil Rowell. Rowell's boat was found near Guntersville Dam last December, but he was nowhere to be found.

Sheriff's officials said the boat throttle was engaged in the forward position and the fuel tank was empty.

Investigators said the evidence suggests he fell out of the boat, but it is not certain where that may have happened.. They hope dogs with good noses can help. "Depending on the case, sometimes you know exactly where a person went in and sometimes you don't. The dogs can be useful to narrow your areas down," said Janet Geist of the North Alabama Search Dog Association.

Rescue Squad officials said if the dogs hit, they will use GPS markers for the spot and plan to come back this weekend to begin the dragging process.
