HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County grand jury indicted two men accused of holding a child captive for sexual purposes.

Carl Herold and his domestic partner, Charles Dunnavant, face more than 30 charges combined. Both are accused of holding the child in a home for more than eight months, among many other charges.

Herold faces six counts of sodomy, three counts of sex abuse and a count of aggravated child abuse. He was also indicted on six counts of conspiracy to commit sodomy, for a total of 20 counts.

Dunnavant faces similar charges, including one count of sex abuse and six of conspiracy to commit sodomy, for a total of 11 counts.

When Herold appeared in court in December, he candidly denied all allegations when approached for comment outside the courtroom.

Both men are in jail on more than $1 million bond. The next step in the case is an arraignment, followed by a trial. There is no set date for either stage.
