HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Huntsville Police Department announced five arrests Wednesday that stem from a four-month operation in association with multiple area agencies.

Search warrants issued during the investigation netted more than 1,100 grams of cocaine, 131 grams of marijuana, 60 grams of opiates, and $1,400 in cash. Two handguns were also recovered, one of which was reported stolen.

HPD listed the arrested suspects as follows:

  • Charleston Antonia Watts, aka "Charlie Hustle," 32
  • Antonio Lavar Burton, aka "Fat Toney," 29
  • Travis Leonard Leslie, 35
  • Richard Lee Smith, 31
  • Laquinton Jerrod Ervin, 23

All five suspects reside in Huntsville. Charges on the subjects range from trafficking to distribution of narcotics and weapons charges. All five were processed in the Madison County Jail with various bond amounts.

Despite the charges, neighbors of one of the homes searched on Wilkerson Drive said they were shocked by news of the arrests. The house now sits abandoned, deemed unsafe by the city. Other homes searched in the investigation were on Gilbreath Road, Delia Lane and, in Madison, at Jasmine Lane.

Agents with the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force, DEA, HPD SWAT, HPD K-9, Decatur Narcotics and Morgan County Narcotics conducted the investigation.

Investigators said more arrests are expected.
