Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle announced the launch of a new app for the city on Wednesday.

The app is called Huntsville Connect and will be used to make requests concerning road problems, graffiti, illegal dumping as well as other issues.

"Huntsville Connect allows all of our citizens to be the eyes and ears of the City," said Battle. "It gives residents a convenient and efficient way to report issues on the go, beyond traditional office hours, and it enables the City to automatically and seamlessly respond. Problems can be reported quickly and accurately and the system follows the problem until it is addressed."

City officials said residents will receive a tracking number after an issue is submitted through the app that will let them follow a request from the time its been submitted until it is resolved. The app is free and available for iPhone or Android mobile devices.
