Clemson defeats Georgia State, advances in NIT tourney

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Clemson Men's Basketball team defeated Georgia State 78-66 at Littlejohn Coliseum in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament Tuesday night.

The team will now move on to the second round of the tournament.

Tigers junior K.J. McDaniels had 30 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots in Tuesday night's game.

Damarcus Harrison produced 17 points and Jordan Roper added 11 and four assists.

It was the team's first postseason game since 2011.

The Tigers will host the winner of Wednesday's game between Boston University and Illinois.
