Shoplifting investigation leads to drug arrests

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Two men charged with shoplifting ended up being saddled withdrug charges as well.

Decatur police said they responded to the Walmart on SpringAvenue on Sunday concerning two suspected shoplifters.

The two men were identified as Dusty Ray Wilhoite and VinceEdward Bramlett. Wilhoite and Bramlett were arrested and charged with theft inthe third degree.

Upon further investigation, police said they found thatWilhoite was in possession of meth, drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles.Police reported Bramlett was also found to be in possession of meth.

Wilhoite was charged with possession of a controlledsubstance and drug paraphernalia (with intent to use), carrying brass knuckles and theft. Bramlett was charged with possession of a controlled substance andtheft.

Wilhoite and Bramlett were both booked into the Decatur CityJail and will be transferred to Morgan County Jail. Wilhoite's bond was set at$4,000, and Bramlett's bond was set at $3,000.
