Good Monday evening.
We're digging deeper into a shocking story we first reported over the weekend. A dog that was reportedly dragged behind a vehicle in Hazel Green in Madison County is still alive. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy spoke with the owner of the dog who says this wasn't an act of animal cruelty, but a horrific accident. Hear more of our exclusive interview with the dog's owner at 10.
We're continuing to work on the latest details in the case of two people found shot to death at a home on County Road 10 in Lauderdale County today. After a brief chase, Mark Montgomery was taken into custody, with several weapons discovered in his vehicle. Charges were just announced; Montgomery faces 2 counts of capital murder for the deaths of the woman - the latest, at 10.
And we're also following the latest on the proposed Sweetwater retail development in Decatur. That retail development at the intersection of I-65 and I-565 would have a Bass Pro Shop as an anchor. The deal would reportedly bring in 400 jobs and spur the economy of the entire area, including Decatur, Limestone County, Madison and Huntsville. But with malls and retail developments losing profits nationwide due to the growth of internet shopping, will this work? WAFF 48's Diana Crawford spoke with a retail expert today to get some extremely important answers.
We hope you'll join us at 10.
