A Hazel Green coach made a respectablesecond-place finish in a nationwide poll.

USA Today released its Best Coach of 2014list this week. With over 274,000 votes, Tim Miller of Hazel Green High Schoolearned the runner-up position out of 255 coaches that began the contest. Thetop spot this year was won by Jesse Nelson of Olpe KS.

Miller has logged over 400 wins during hiscareer. USA Today's contest pagesays Miller has won four state titles.

In Miller's honor, Hazel Green High Schoolwill receive a banner and $1,000 for the athletics department.
