Trial starts for 4 accused of pharmacy robbery

The trial for four men accused of robbing a Hazel Green pharmacyin 2012 starts Monday.

It didn't take deputies a long time to catch the four men.Authorities said the subjects were leaving as deputies pulled up to the scene.

Allfour men were charged with robbery. Two men were identified as TroyCartwright and Derrick Brewton. Brewton was also charged with attempted murderand kidnapping after he held a man outside at gunpoint.

The other two men were identified as Pierre Payton and LucasRay Walker, who was 16-years-old at the time of the robbery.

Investigators said that in Sept. 2012, the four men went intoHazel Green Pharmacy wearing Scream masks and demanded money and drugs.Deputies said seven employees and two customers were inside the pharmacy at thetime.

One employee was assaulted during the robbery and taken tothe hospital with minor injuries. The manager said the men tried to getspecific drugs, like Lortabs, Xanax and Oxycodone.

As they were leaving the scene in an SUV, deputies pulledup. The men led authorities on a chase and were arrested not too long afterthat.

Investigators said all of the money and prescription drugswere recovered.
