NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The woman who lives at a home where a man was shot and killed late Sunday evening says a violent dispute between two men started over a dirt bike.

Harry Dewayne Eason, 19, was fatally shot during the fight at 7005 Alamosa Drive just after 11 p.m. Sunday. Eason was struck several times, according to authorities.

Deputies say the suspect, Demarius Quandreis Kelly, 20, ran from the scene but was arrested shortly after 2 a.m.

Kelly appeared in court Monday morning, where he was charged with first degree murder. District Attorney Ben David says more charges are expected to be filed against Kelly. A judge did not set bond for Kelly.

According to information on the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office website, Kelly previously failed to appear for three misdemeanor charges.

There are currently people living at the home on Alamosa Drive where the shooting happened. One resident, who does not wish to be identified, said the two men involved in the altercation were friends.

The resident said the dispute started over a dirt bike that was being kept at the home.  Neither of the men lived there.
