HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Alabama spring turkey season has begun. There are some things you should know before you go off to hunt.

Officials estimate there are 400,000 turkeys throughout the state right now. The season bag limit is one gobbler per day, and five per season.

New regulations require hunters to report all their kills. You must have a harvest record on hand and fill it out before moving the bird. Kills can be reported in three ways:

  • Online – click here for more information
  • By phone – call 1-800-888-7690

The season goes through the end of April.
