HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

NASA's administrator Charlie Bolden is a happy camper onseveral fronts. He said Friday that he was pleased with next year's budget, although he'd like more money to spend on NASA's commercial partners.

He really wants American-made rockets airborne soon tothe International Space Station carrying US astronauts to avoid total relianceon the Russians.

Friday, Bolden came to the Rocket City to tour Marshalland see the progress on the developing space launch system. It's American's asteroid, moon, and Mars rocket. It's scheduled to begin flying in three years. The SLSis ahead of schedule and Bolden came armed with lots of questions for engineerscreating the hardware and software that controls it.

"We are in the risk taking business," Bolden said. "If wedon't have stuff happen here, we aren't doing it right. I didn't come here todo normal stuff."
